10-day Bulgaria hiking trip (monasteries, mountains and lakes)

Bulgaria is a truly amazing country. There is so much to see throughout the country that you could easily spend several months there and still find new things to discover. And, while this wonderful adventure doesn’t last several months, I believe that over the trip’s 10 days, you will see enough to last a lifetime.

Over the course of this 10-day expedition, you will get to see no less than 5 cities, 3 monasteries, 3 mountains and 7 lakes!

The 3 monasteries you will get to visit include the Rila monastery, the Troyan monastery and the Backovo monastery. The cities you will visit include Sofia, Tarnovo, Valiko and Plovdiv. The 7 lakes are all part of the famed Rila Lakes in the sensational Rila Mountains. You will also see the highest peak in the entire Balkans Mountain Range: Mount Musala. Other great highlights include the Tracian Tombs in the valley of roses and so much more.

At the end of every adventurous day, you will get to spend your nights in comfortable hotels and guesthouses. Thus ensuring you get plenty of rest to prepare for your next day’s hike.

While not a difficult hiking trip, it is nonetheless important that participants on this trip are in good physical condition.
