Iceland is a magical place, known for its unique landscapes and mythology. Because it is so way up north, it is a perfect place for snow lovers and ski enthusiasts. Additionally, its stunning fjords, glaciers and volcanoes make it a favorite travel spot for explorers. However, because it is a rather remote destination it is always best to go in company of a good guide. On this 1 week ski touring trip to Iceland I will gladly show you the beautiful hidden places of this breathtaking destination!
The week long tour is designed so that every day we will see a different Icelandic gem. We begin by flying into Reykjavik from Milan. From there, we will head to Akureyri which will lead us to our ski tour starting point in Dalvik. This stunning little town in the North of Iceland is also a common destination for whale watching! From there, we will set off on our ski tour through different mountains and explore glaciers, lakes and stunning landscapes! Also, on the fifth day, we will drive to Lake Myvatn. This beautiful spot is the result of volcanic activity and is a unique place to visit. It will also give us a chance to rest our legs a bit for the final ski tour days.
Because we will be skiing intensively for a week, a good level of fitness is very important. Some prior skiing experience is also preferable. However, I will be there every step of the way to guide you and show you the ropes. On this trip you will get the chance to improve your skiing skills as well as to explore a unique and beautiful territory!
Are you ready to set off on a dream ski touring trip to Iceland? Then book your place now and join me to this magical destination! I will be happy to make sure you have an enjoyable and safe trip!
I also offer another ski tour in Iceland that starts off from the gorgeous town of Ólafsfjörður. Make sure to check it out and explore it with us!
On the first day of our journey, we will part from Milan to Reykjavik. Once there, we will go to Akureyri from where we will depart to Dalvik.
On day two we will start our ski tour in Hestskardshnjukur mountain, opposite a beautiful small fjord.
Next we will explore the Saudanes-hnjukàr mountain.
Our following ski spot is the Kalbakur mountain in the Westfjord Alps.
On day 5 of our trip we will drive to the famous Lake Myvatn set amidst Icelandic volcanoes.
Up next will be the stunning white peaks of the Hnjòtafjall.
Then we will head to Reykjarret and then back to Dalvic.
Finally, on our last excursion day we will explore the Vindheimajokull glacier to wrap up a wonderful trip!
After a week of ski touring the beautiful Icelandic mountains we will return to Milan.

We were very satisfied with the whole experience. Our guide Matteo was very experienced and taught us a lot during the short trip. He looked after us and made sure that we felt secure even on the most dangerous stages of the ascent and descent. I cannot express enough how happy we were with Matteo's support and guidance. He was very professional during the whole trip and also very jovial and kept us a good company. His knowledge of the mountains and mountaineering is exceptional and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone wishing to climb in the Alps.

We were a bit unlucky with the weather, so we didn't summit. But given the conditions, I think we did the best we could, we've scaled some smaller peaks and practiced our spline skills. Matteo is great guide, highly recommend.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
