1-day La Malinche summit tour in Mexico

Located in the state of Tlaxcala, east of Mexico City and north of Puebla, we invite you to conquer the 6th highest mountain in Mexico. At 4.420 m (14.500 ft), La Malinche presents the perfect challenge for intermediate climbers who want to take their mountaineering skills to the next level!

Our proposal is to approach La Malinche from the “Las Cabañas del IMSS”route, considered the “standard route”thanks to its beauty and accessibility. At 3,330 m  (10,950 ft), we’ll leave our car and ascend through a beautiful high altitude forest.

At first, we’ll walk through low and alpine vegetation and further on, we’ll continue through a sandy and rocky terrain. Along the way, we’ll admire the fantastic views of the Pico de Orizaba (5,636 m) , the Popocatepetl (5,426 m) and the Iztaccihuatl (5,230 m). Finally, we’ll practice some rock climbing and reach the summit of this powerful volcano!

Please keep in mind that all participants need to be physically fit. Also, keep in mind that we will take each climber’s experience into consideration to o organize the best itinerary in order to get to the top in the best possible conditions.
