Located in the Tarentaise valley, Val d’Isere is linked to Tignes with which it forms Espace Killy, a 300 kilometer high-quality snow-sure piste ski area with 78 lifts. Going from one sector to another is pretty easy.  Furthermore, the village is located at 1,850 meters above sea level with slopes of nearly 3,400 meters. Therefore, due to the altitude, it has a long snow-assured winter season, with snow making machines as back-ups. It is perfect for intermediate and advanced skiers, though there are options for beginners as well. Some of the most famous runs are Le Fornet, La Daille and Bellevarde.
