I am going to guide on you on a memorable day of ski touring, combining off-piste skiing and winter mountaineering, as we traipse around the spectacular Julian Alps in Slovenia, which some consider the number one ski touring destination in Europe!
Located just 120km from the capital city, Ljubljana, and a relatively easy journey to the world-famous, romantic and picture-perfect Lake Bled, the Julian Alps also includes the highest peak in the country, and one of the proud emblems of Slovenia, Mount Triglav.
This trip starts on Sunday or Wednesday from 15th December to 1st May.
After picking you up from either an agency or your accommodation in the Bled area, it is a short 30-minute drive to our starting point in the alps.
From here we take off on our action-packed day around these remarkable slopes, as the smooth, unspoiled powder on offer provides you with the optimal conditions for skiing.
I am sure that along the way you will wonder if the fresh air you are breathing into your lungs and the astonishing views in front of you are actually real, such is the awe-inspiring nature of the area.
My experience in this region ensures we will find and ski along only the best routes, away from the crowds and with the funnest activities, to ensure you never forget the memories made on the day!
Slovenia is awaiting to be discovered by you – book now to ski around this gem!

Mountain Guide
I’m a certified IFMGA mountain guide and canyoning guide living in the small and famous town of Bled, in Slovenia.
I started rock climbing at the age of 5. From that time on, the mountains became my playground. During my childhood, I took part in many rock climbing competitions. When I was 12, my twin brother and I did our first multi-pitch climb on a 350 m wall.
By the age of 16, I started competing in ice climbing world cups and later on skydiving junior world cups. In fact, in 2008 I became the world champion at the UIAA Ice Climbing Overall Ranking in speed ice climbing.
I climbed in many different countries like Peru, South Korea, Switzerland, France and Italy. However, Slovenia is the place I like the most.
Among other significant achievements, I did the first winter ascent (from the bottom of the wall) in Sphinx, the most difficult route in the mythical North Face of Mt Triglav. Besides, I got the first place for males at the IFMGA International mountain guide climbing championship in 2017.
I like sharing moments with people, especially in mountains. Feel free to join me in the highest mountains, steepest walls and many other Alpine wonders. I’m flexible, so we can also research places in other countries worldwide. Deep canyons, emerald rivers, beautiful mountains, great people, a good laugh, you name it.
I look forward to meeting you!

This hike was a highlight of our trip! Matevz was an amazing guide. The one day hike up Mount Triglav was more challenging than we expected. Matevz is very experienced, which made us felt safe during the via ferrate section. He was patient and encouraging of us the entire way.

I had a very nice experience with explore-share. They were able to answer any questions I had about the trek like reaching the trailhead or equipment, etc. They also responded really fast. Matevz was also an amazing guide, helping us with the route when took a wrong route to the hut and was very clear and honest in his communication. He also ensured that we maintained a good pace to the summit without being too pushy.

We had an amazing time climbing with Matevz near Bled! He took us to his hometown crag and found us several routes that suited our skill level. Strongly recommended.

Stunning hike up Debela Pec with our guide Timotei from Altitude Activities. Everything was exactly as we hoped - super kind and friendly guide, beautiful scenery, fun hiking in the snow and a great traditional Slovenian lunch at the hut on the way down. Great experience!
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
