Description

Situated in the Italian region of Tuscany, Pizzo d’Uccello reaches 1,781 meters of altitude and belongs to the Apuan Alps. On the north face of this beautiful mountain, we can find several rock climbing areas. Join me on this program and discover them!

First of all, we’ll meet early in the morning in the Rifugio Guido Donegani, in the Serenaia Valley. From there, we’ll take a 45-minute hike to the Foce Siggioli via ferrata that will take us around 1 hour. Afterwards, we’ll begin climbing and spend from 6 to 10 hours on this activity. Once at the top of the mountain, we’ll contemplate the stunning panorama and descend through the normal route. Finally, we’ll head back to the refuge.

One of the available options to enjoy rock climbing on this mountain is the classic route called Oppio-Colnaghi. The climb is long and demanding, but not very technically difficult. The elevation gain is about 700 meters. Furthermore, we can choose to take the Biagi-Nerli route, aimed at more advanced participants. For both routes, it is mandatory to have prior rock climbing experience as well as an excellent fitness level.

If you want to join me on this rock climbing adventure in the Apuan Alps, do not hesitate to send the request to book your place. We’ll be happy to guide you!

Another great rock climbing option in Tuscany is this program in Monte Lieto. Check it out!

It was my first climbing experience and it couldn’t have been better. My guide Franco chose a climbing spot that allowed for varying degrees of difficulty, took his time to explain safety, all the different tools, show me basic techniques, and guided me through the pitches to help improve my skills over the day. We were able to do several pitches of varying difficulty to explore and push my limits and get comfortable with the elevation. Thank you! I highly recommend him.

Great service from Explore Share arranging a world class guide (Franco) to take our family of 6 on the via Ferrata expedition. Highly recommend!

Great experience overall - we went to the Apuan alps where we were able to climb multiple routes with a fantastic view all with our guide Franco - very fun and memorable experience and would definitely recommend

Really great climbing experience near Cinque Terre. The location was beautiful and our guide was fantastic. 1/2 of our group was experienced and 1/2 was not. Our guide made sure to find an area to accommodate everyone's abilities. Would highly recommend this experience!
