1+ day Rock climbing in the Flatirons, near Boulder, CO

Among Boulder, Colorado’s most iconic landmarks are the Flatirons. Located in Chautauqua Park, these large rock formations jut out just to the west of the city and serve as the very gatekeepers to the Rocky Mountains.

Named because they somewhat resemble the Flatiron building in Manhattan, these massive monoliths offer an unforgettable day of rock climbing for participants of every level.

With more than 1,000 feet (~300 meters) of climbing available, the Flatirons are home to some of the best and longest multi-pitch climbing for beginners in the entire country!

However, the Flatirons also boast numerous other moderately angled faces and steep, unique climbs, meaning there is plenty here to keep intermediate and advanced climbers occupied as well.

On the day of our trip, we will meet first thing in the morning in order to maximize our time out in the rocks. A bit of hiking is required to get to the base of them, but that is not a problem as it is pretty easy and very scenic.

There are five Flatirons overall, which should be plenty to keep us busy for an entire day of climbing and, possibly, even more!
