1-day Kennebec River rafting in Maine

The Kennebec River flows south along 270 kilometers (170 miles) from Moosehead Lake in west-central Maine towards the Atlantic Ocean, through some of the state’s most stunning scenery and wildlife. Its high volume of whitewater and spectacular wilderness setting makes the Kennebec River one of the finest rafting destinations in the country.

This full-day tour will take us rafting over almost 20 kilometers (12 miles) along the Kennebec’s giant, steep rock walls, surrounded by beautiful forests. You will paddle into the rapids, across 6- to 8-foot waves (2 meters approx.), and often stop to explore and bathe in some of the rivers’ waterfalls and swimming holes. If you are lucky, you will spot some typical local wildlife, such as eagles, moose and osprey!

The tour includes a gourmet grilled lunch halfway to satisfy rafters’ appetite and regain some energy. 

This adventure is ideal for everyone, from explorers and beginner paddlers, to groups of friends and family. It is a great summer activity to share with kids, although these must be at least 10 years old to be able to join.
