Join me on this 1-day introduction to backcountry skiing and I promise you will gain the confidence and skills to enable you to maximize your enjoyment of this activity, all in the beautiful surrounds of Snoqualmie Pass, near Seattle, long known for having some of the prettiest and alluring scenery in the state.
Snoqualmie Pass is located a mere 54 miles from the bustling metropolis of Seattle, and this has resulted in it becoming exponentially more popular over the past 20 years. The landscape, terrain and scenery is picture-perfect, with idyllic alpine forests giving way to breath-taking lakes and valleys, all with the captivating snow-capped mountains in the background.
We will meet in the morning close to the ski area, in the backcountry area, and initially we will be running through how to put on your equipment properly, and also all relevant safety information, including an avalanche beacon safety check.
From here we will begin skiing in earnest, as we head on to the powder to learn basic skills such as uphill moves and kick turns, and the safest and most efficient techniques and movements to utilize whilst skiing downhill in a backcountry setting.
There of course will be ample time amongst the teaching to take in the marvelous views around us and breathe in the crisp, clean and fresh air.
After 6 or 7 hours we will finish, hopefully having whetted your appetite for more backcountry skiing.

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!
