The most famous Via Ferrata in the Sesto Dolomites lies along the Italian front of the First World War. The impressive summit of Monte Paterno, with spectacular views of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, and the subsequent tunnel system complete a fascinating day in the mountains.
This is a welcoming land of mountains and lakes with friendly people, great weather and beautiful scenery. In summer, it is perfect for hiking or trekking in the mountains.
We will climb 728 meters on a route that is 5,3 kilometers-long. The trip takes approximately 3 hours. In no other place is the strength and grandeur of the Dolomites so palpable and intense as on a via ferrata. The vertical dominates here: metal wires, ladders and anchors in the stone guide the rock climber on steep rock.
Impressive passages in the tunnel, numerous cracks in the rock and a point where you need to crawl to continue just before reaching Monte Paterno add adrenaline to the via ferrata. A real must for experienced climbers and a great test ground for neophytes.
Everyone with a basic fitness level can do this tour. You also need a good head for heights. So please contact me to experience this classic via ferrata. I guarantee you will not regret it!
