Have you always wanted to splitboard in Norway’s fjords? Then join me on this 1+ day tour in Sogn og Fjordane.
West Norway is home to the Sogn og Fjordane, which is picturesque in its beauty. With the sea off to one side, fjords in-between and the Jotunheimen mountains on the other, this is a breathtaking part of Scandinavia to explore. The area also prizes the glacier Jostedalbreen, which is the largest glacier in continental Europe.
This area gets a lot of snowfall throughout the winter, so we will be able to splitboard all over lots of powdered snow. And we get to venture from 700 meters to 1500 meters of incline throughout the program.
This trip can be tailored to suit your desired duration, and can range from 2 to 7 days (or more should you want). Depending on what you choose to do, you are able to go explore some classic routes in Sogn og Fjordane or splitboard in one region, specifically.
We will be spending about 5 to 10 hours each day on the slopes, so it is recommended that you be in good physical condition in order to enjoy this trip in full.
Request to book this trip if you have been dreaming of experiencing some of Norway’s beautiful scenery while on a splitboard! And if more activities in Sogn og Fjordane interest you, check out my guided ice-climbing trip!

Mountain Guide
I am a fully certified IFMGA guide since 2012. I have, however, mastered my climbing and skiing skills for many years before taking up guiding. I have participated in numerous climbing expeditions not only to the wild mountains of Caucasus (which I have gotten to know pretty well), but also to Nepal, Alps and have extensively climbed in many Norwegian areas. In recent years I have been resident in Norway, and I co-operate with my friends at Lyngen Outdoor Center as their chief mountain guide.

Fantastic trip. Guide was experienced and friendly. He took us to some amazing sites where we learned the basics of ice climbing and using crampons as well as using ice axis to climb and be safe on the mountain. We did a snow hike up Gaustatoppen which was an environment we’ve never been too and was an incredible experience. Wish we could have stayed longer! Trip was weather dependent as with anything but that didn’t take away a huge amount of things to do. Rjukan is a wonderful town with gorgeous scenery. Huge thank you to Pawel for this experience!

Pawel was a fantastic guide, I couldn’t have hoped for anything better for my first trip ice climbing. In particular I was very impressed with his ability to make sure that I was always challenged but never entirely out of my depth and his coaching helped me to develop without overloading me with information.

The most fantastic day with the most helpful, skilled and friendly guide and instructor! We had a really wonderful and exciting day, learned a great deal and enjoyed the truly spectacular scenery. Pawel was extraordinarily supportive, patient and impressive in his sharing of knowledge and for making it a great day all around. Big thanks and we look forward to the next time!

We were 3 guys heading out for our first time iceclimbling, and it was one of the best trip either of us had ever been on. Friendly and attentive guide, who clearly focused on our needs. We felt very safe throughout and our only regret is that we didn't have more days. Big thanks to Pawel for being a terrific guide.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
