Description

Calling all skiers to upper Austria! Join me on this 1+ day ski touring adventure from the mountains of upper Austria, to the Pyhrn-Priel Region.

Upper Austria is home to some of the most beautiful mountains in the Alps, many of which we will get to see on our day on the slopes. We will also get a chance to ski to the Pyhrn-Priel region, which is idyllic in scenery.

We will begin our trip by meeting in a cafe in Windischgarsten early in the morning for a coffee and a short meeting about our plans for the day. Then, we will arrive at a mountain and begin our ski, taking a break after a little while to enjoy a proper lunch. We will then get back to the slopes and ski a bit more, before having an afternoon snack in a nearby restaurant to reconvene with the group and discuss our lovely day.

This trip is offered on the selected dates below, and is small in its size, taking only 4-8 participants at a time. It is also relatively easy in difficulty.

Mountain Guide

My passion for the mountains starts early in my life. At age 10 I summited Dachstein, the highest mountain in northern Austria the first time. But it took 6 more years to get me into climbing at age 16. Since then I haven't stopped climbing.

Since 2012 I have been self-employed as a climbing Guide. I became a fully-certified mountain guide in 2016.

I love how my guiding work has taken me to special places like Patagonia, Lyngen and Lofoten but also very much enjoy working in the Alps and climbing well-known peaks such as Dachstein, Großglockner, and Mount Blanc.

I will be happy to guide you on your next mountain holiday. I'll try to make it a satisfying and safe journey to the summit and back to the valley!

Rolf

I very much enjoyed the trip. I had wished to do this trip for more than 20 years. Unfortunately I cought a virus a couple of days before we headed for the peak. To this very day I still dont feel ship shape, but still though, much better. Stefan is a fantastuc guide, and I felt safe all the way up and down. The weather forcast was bad for the 24 th of july in the afternoon, but became shitty 2-3 hours before forecasted with thunder and lightening in one go several times. We agreed to leave the peak after an approximately 10 minutes rest in order to reduce the impact of the increasingly bad weather. The decision was right, no discussion what so ever between the two of us. Stefan is utter professional. In stead we had a good rest at Herzug Johann hutte. We luckily made it safely all the way down, even though the via ferrata part to and fro the Herzug Johann hut was tiny bit slippery on the way down due to rain. I will most definitely recommend Stefan to other trekkers, and would be delighted to do another trip with him next year. Sincerely regards Rolf Norman Windheim Sørensen

A last minute conflict caused Stefan to be unavailable, Even so, he arranged for another guide to ensure we had a great day climbing!

Bjørn

Very nice trip to the summit. Great guide with a lot of knowledge, and fast to adjust since we had a bit of a misunderstanding. Fast and good response every day of the week. I would highly recommend going with Stefan.
