Description

Follow me to the summit of the highest mountain in the United Kingdom on this amazing day-hike! This trek is a must for anyone looking for an unforgettable experience in Scotland and  it satisfies the wanderlust in everyone searching for the perfect nature hike.

Ben Nevis (1,345m) is not only the tallest mountain in Scotland; it rises higher than any other summit in the British Isles! It is immensely popular among tourists and visitors, and offers plenty of outdoor activities all year round that will keep you coming back for more.

The views as you climb are captivating, and you will pass gorgeous landscape that is just as impressive when you are looking down from the top of the hike. There are even the ruins of an old observatory at summit, that was once used to collect valuable meteorological data.

You will have over 1,300 meters of incline and decline along your way, and you will rack up a total distance of about 16 kilometers by the end of the day. Taking anywhere from 6 to 9 hours, our journey up ¨The Ben¨ combines gentle walks and weaving footpaths for a perfect hike.

Our day begins around 8:30am, meeting at the Glen Nevis Visitor Centre carpark to prepare our journey. Leaving at 9:00am, we will start along some pleasant walkways before reaching the mountain trail.

We increase the difficulty as we climb higher to the ¨halfway lochain,¨ where the path levels off and we turn south. Zig-zagging our way further up the mountain will keep the trek manageable, and you will pass by inclines and gullies to the summit.

I will take you down the same route for our return trip.

While this summer program is available for everyone, it does contain steep aspects of hiking that require a moderate amount of physical fitness. You should be in reasonably good shape to take on this trek.

Wait no more and book this day-hike to the summit of Ben Nevis – the Scottish landmark towering above the British Isles!

If you are interested in a little more action, I have an outstanding intermediate rock climbing course! And I can also take you traversing at Cuillin Ridge on a 3-day program!

I have been guiding in the UK for 10 years and chose the Scottish Highlands due to their remote feel and beauty. Rock climbing, Ice climbing, mixed climbing and more can be done in this area and it is all so accessible.

We offer a wide range of trips with Ben Nevis guiding, the Skye Cuillin ridge and Glencoe guiding amongst our more popular trips.

Great time walking up Ben Nevis with Kirk's help. It rained the entire time and was unbelievably gusty, but with Kirk's expertise I was able to complete the journey safely!!!

Scott is friendly and very knowledgeable, if you’re looking to get into the mountains Scott’s the man, he’ll keep you safe while making you smile. First Class.

I've done the Tower Ridge with Scott and he has been excellent from the start, prompt and professional to deal with to get it all organised, and a superb guide. Highly experienced and skilled, I did not have a slight slip in confidence along the way, despite weather conditions being far from ideal with rain and fairly high winds - I should mention that I really appreciated he was keen to take me up there in this weather (of course maintaining the flexibility to turn around at any point if the route could potentially become unsafe, but his judgement was just spot on). He also explains everything along the way, gives tips and is fun to be around. 5 stars, I wouldn't hestitate to book him again.
