1+ day Backcountry skiing around Silverton, Colorado (San Juan Mountains)

I will guide you on a backcountry ski tour around the world-famous, veritable Winter Wonderland of Silverton, Colorado, as we discover the best powder, funnest trails and beautiful scenery of the area. This day will make you fall in love with the San Juan Mountains, as many have before, as its picture-perfect setting of alpine forests and lively apres-ski scene is an intoxicating mix!

Silverton is nestled in the San Juan Mountains in Colorado, and is one of the highest towns in the United States of America. Its reputation as a skiing and winter activity mecca is exemplified by the fact that many Olympic athletes choose to train here, and that several ski and snowboard videos and movies have been shot on these slopes.

The day begins early on, so as to take advantage of the overnight snow and maximize our skiing time. The type of tour we do is completely up to you, as we offer a wider variety including tree runs, big bowls and steep chutes to more relaxing, leisurely tours intended for you to take in the beautiful landscapes and terrain.

Some of the views you will encounter will be absolutely spectacular, as from in Colorado, high up on the mountains you will get sweeping, panoramic views down below to the tranquil valley where the town itself resides.

After a whole day skiing and tiring ourselves out, we then head back in to town for some drinks and reminiscing about the day, happy and exhausted!
