If you want to explore one of the best canyoning areas in the world, then join me for a day of adrenaline filled canyoning in the Sierra de Guara in Northern Spain! During our day together, we will tackle some of the more challenging routes in the area.
Located in the Spanish region of Aragon in the Pyrenees Mountains, Sierra de Guara has been a national park since 1990, and today is the largest protected area in the province. Situated in the region where Atlantic and Mediterannean climates meet, the area is especially diverse in terms of vegetation and climate. It is also the site of numerous canyons and gorges that have been carved out of the rock by water and wind over the years.
This 1-day trip is perfect for those with advanced canyoning skills who want to practice the sport in the some of the best canyons in the world (note: you may be asked to demonstrate that you are able to safely canyon at an advanced level). We will choose the exact route we explore based on a number of factors, including the time of year and water levels. Options include: Gorgas Negras, Mascun Superior, Barranco de Otin, Barranco de Raisin, Cueba Cabrito, and many other gems of the national park. Regardless of whether you want to explore canyons with loads of water, big jumps, or long abseils, there is something for everyone. Plus, with my extensive local knowledge of the canyons of the area, I can guide you to the hidden treasures of the area that you may not otherwise discover.
We will meet in the morning and I will provide you with the necessary equipment. From there, we set off in our personal vehicles to the canyoning site. While the exact schedule will vary depending on the canyon we choose to explore, we will undergo a safety briefing and training at the starting point before we begin our adventure. Sometimes we enjoy lunch at the starting point, and sometimes in the canyon itself. The trip will last between 7 and 11 hours.
Book now for an exciting day of advanced canyoning in Spain’s Sierra de Gaura National Park! We will enjoy the amazing landscape of an area that’s filled with incredible canyons and gorges to explore!

I am Spanish, born in Pau. I was raised following the rhythm of canyoning seasons of Sierra de Guara since the 80's, where my father, together with other pioneer guides, put together the first guide companies.
I have been a privileged witness for more than 30 years and I love this sport. I have seen it progress, the evolution of the materials and techniques, the spread around the world, and unfortunately the massification of some of them, victims of their own success... I am nevertheless interested in offering an approach of canyoning guiding that is at the same time simple, transversal and complete. Indeed, beyond safety, the sporting aspect, the commitment, the techniques and the pleasure of adrenalin, I consider it important to take our time, learn and marvel all our senses (and what can be better to do so than such a varied activity combining so many elements in sublime locations), and of course respecting the vulnerable environment that welcomes us...
My favorite canyoning sites are Sierra de Guara, the Pyrénées, Morocco, Mallorca, Slovenia and Italy, but there are also sublime spots in France, New Zealand, Latin America... and all those in my to-do list that I have yet to discover.

I really enjoyed my trip and I think I will remember it for a long time. That is untill I go back and make some new memories:) Which I am sure (and hope) will happen. I learned a lot new things there. Everyone in my group were really nice and friendly people, the only disadvantage for me was that I don't speak french and only a few of them knew some English. So of course it would have made my trip even more enjoyable if I could communicate to everyone freely, including the guide. But even considering that we did not spreak the same language I was very happy with the guide. He gave us only things he knew we could do and made sure we felt safe at all times. He definitely did a good job on that. I have been telling everyone about this trip and saying it was one of the best I had..
