Welcome to the Kootenay Pass in British Columbia, Canada. If you’re looking for some fun backcountry skiing in great conditions then look no further! 

Situated about 1 hour south of Nelson, this wonderful mountain pass is elevated up at 1780m above sea level. Separating the settlements of Salmo and Creston, the pass is also referred to as ‘the Salmo-Creston’.

The Kootenay Pass is located in the southern region of the Selkirk mountains, with the Selkirks themselves forming part of the greater Columbia Mountain range.

This area is truly stunning, with dense alpine forests, mountain lakes and a horizon dotted with peaks, you will be blown away by the views!

There is a wonderful diversity of backcountry ski touring options here, with 5 separate valleys to choose from.

Fantastic tree skiing awaits you, as do superb sub-alpine ridges that supply some amazing open terrain!

It doesn’t matter whether you are a beginner or an advanced skier, I will create a day to suit your ability and preferences.

I like to conduct my trips in small groups of up to 6 people, meaning that I’ll always be able to keep an eye on your safety and communicate about the surroundings.
