Bled is a picturesque mountain town in the northwest of Slovenia, and only 55 kilometers from Ljubljana, the country’s capital city. With an abundance of outdoor activities, the valley that is sandwiched between Bled and Bohinj is known for having some of the best rock climbing spots in Slovenia. In fact, you can find interesting places to climb just a 5-minute drive out of town, while other crags in the surroundings of the Triglav National Park can be reached within an hour.

Why should I choose Bled for my Rock Climbing adventure?

Quality valley climbing

The valley that snakes between Bled and Bohinj is possibly the best area in the entire country for outdoor activities, especially rock climbing. Sublime Slovenian scenery

The jagged limestone crags and peaks of the Julian Alps offer a stunning backdrop to rock climbing. And below the rugged walls the surround area is home to sublime scenery. Visit Lake Bled, a picturesque glacial and tectonic lake that circles the tiny Bled Island, home to an antique church. Overlooking this is the medieval Bled Castle, possibly the oldest in the country, which clings to a nearby cliff.

Excellent alpine access

The small central European state has excellent infrastructure, which means road access to the crags are smooth and short. So by being based in Bled, you’ll surround yourself with almost endless climbing opportunities. Choose from easy climbs to more demanding routes, and between single-pitch and multi-pitch climbs.

I don't properly understand Explore Share's role here. I just wanted to use a small local guiding company and I was forced to do booking through Explore Share. And finally third party, Kofler Sport took care of guiding. Kofler Sport and especially Greg's job was excellent.

Good information on the Explore-share website and help finding an available guide. Got in direct touch with guide very fast and were able to get all answers as to verify that this was the right trip for me. Had to change dates by one day due to weather changes, but this is to be expected in mountain regions. Ended up climbing in beautiful weather with very professional, calm and safe guide Igor Kremser. Overall a good experience from finding the trip, all communications and of course the trip itself. Thanks!

Our day with Jan and Youna (I'm definitely spelling their names wrong, sorry) went very well, he made sure to check our skill level and chose climbs based on it. He also offered tips on how to tackle climbs and was very attentive to our safety. A great plus is helping us take photos with his amazing camera. Great day out on the rocks!

Joni

Strong recommendation. Walking poles could ve been useful support for hiking part.

Hey Rok & Dejan, Thanks for taking us out to Bellevue. We had a great time and enjoyed the drinks and conversation after. We’re off to do some bouldering in Trenta per your recommendation, and are inspired to hit the outside even more when we’re back home. Hope to come back to Slovenia one day. Maybe we’ll see you in Metelkova tomorrow, Dejan. Best, Andrew
