Santiago —the Chilean capital city— is one of the largest cities in South America. Lying in the country’s Central Valley, it’s surrounded by the Andes mountains. Due to its convenient location, it’s possible to reach beautiful natural areas at a short distance. For those who enjoy rock climbing, there are a lot of natural walls to explore! In the area of Cajon del Maipo, for example, you’ll find a wide variety of alpine climbing, trad climbing and sport climbing routes. Most of the trips take from 1 to 2 days and are oriented to intermediate or advanced climbers, but there are also some options for those who want to get started on this sport. Explore-Share only promotes trips led by certified mountain guides.

My trip with Nicolas was perfect. He catered to my climbing preference and the hot springs at the end of day was exactly what we needed. I would definitely do it again! Thanks Nico for my first experience in climbing in Chile!

The guide did not know the route. We spent a lot of time trying to find the route. The climbing itself was good.
