What should I know about Rock Climbing Brazil?
If you are heading to Rio for some rock climbing, then the international airport there (GIG) is likely where your trip will begin. From the airport, you’ll easily be able to take a bus into the center of the city. Be sure to avoid the favelas and do not get into unlicensed taxis in order to stay as safe as possible.
If Curitiba is where you’re headed then you’ll most likely get there with a flight into one of the international airports at Rio (GIG) or in São Paulo (GRU) followed by a domestic flight to the local airport (CWB) in the city.
There is a lot to see in Brazil and you won’t be able to take it all in at once. Be sure to spend at least a week in whichever destination you choose to visit in order to take in all the sights. That way you’ll be able to head to a new location next time you come to Brazil.
Why should I choose Brazil for my Rock Climbing adventure?
Stunning scenery
From the verdant forests and stark rock formations of southern Brazil to the beaches beneath Rio’s Pão de Açúcar, there is plenty to see in this beautiful scenery. Rock climbing will get you up and above it all, yielding excellent views of the surrounding scenery.
Hit the beach
Either before or after your rock climbing adventure, make some time to discover the legendary beaches of Brazil. From Rio’s famed Copacabana to some of the local beaches closer to Curitiba, there’s plenty of sand, sun and sea to explore.
Come for the culture
From the legendary spectacle that is Carnival to the passion that is football, Brazil has a rich and enthralling culture. Enjoy some of the local cuisine, take in a bossa nova performance and, if you are there in February, head out to the streets to see some of the floats and parade of Carnival.
What can I expect from the weather in Brazil?
Brazil is located on the equator and as a result it is pretty warm all year long with average daily temperatures between 23°C to 27°C. The country experiences moderate rainfall with precipitation levels of between 1.000 mm and 1.500 mm, most of which falls between December and March.
How many days should I allocate for my Brazil Rock Climbing experience?
This depends on how much time you have and what you would like to do. Most guides offer trips lasting between a single day and an entire week. Overall, one week should be plenty of time to discover whichever rock climbing destination you choose to visit.

Going up to Pão de Açúcar was an amazing experience. Alex Ribeiro was an excellent guide and he was super friendly. I would highly recommend anyone who enjoys climbing to go with Alex. The entire process of booking was very simple. Maca and Alex were both very accommodating and flexible with my schedule. I very much appreciate it. It will be an experience I won't forget.

Helpful guide and an interesting route to climb Pão de Açúcar. Conditions were wet so at times it felt a little bit dangerous, but we managed alright safely!
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
