The terrain
The sheer size and scale of the United States means there is an overwhelming amount of terrain to heliski on. Some of the terrain is extremely isolated and remote, owing to the low population density of many states, making for pristine and untouched conditions. There are plentiful mountains in places such as the Mid-West and Alaska, including some of the highest peaks in North America.
The weather
Many of the top heliskiing destinations in the United States have some of the most ideal weather conditions in which to heliski in, with temperatures plummeting below freezing and heavy, constant snowfall. Some of these places have longer ski seasons than others owing to their geography, and it is rare that there is not enough snow to heliski on any given day.
The cultural variety
From the beaches of California to the hustle and bustle of New York City, and everything in between, the differences in culture, vibe and people from state to state are truly amazing, making for a brilliantly fun and unique country.
