What should I know about Cross-country skiing ?
Cross-country is the oldest form of skiing. It involves using skis to move on relatively flat terrain and it was born centuries ago as a means of transportation. It only became a sport at the end of the XIXth century. Nowadays, it is hailed by many as an excellent way of enjoying the outdoors, while getting a good workout. Some even say it is a great remedy for stress!
Why should I choose Cross-country skiing for my outdoor adventure?
It is easy to learn
Even if you are a beginner, it won’t take long for you to be able to get out there and explore the trails. You may want to start with blue (beginner) trails, but you’ll probably find you can move up to red and black trails soon enough.
The great workout
Cross-country skiing provides a great workout for the cardiovascular system, while also training all the major parts of the body. It is probably among the healthiest of winter sports! And although injuries are of course possible, it is not nearly as risky as Alpine Skiing.
The peace and quiet
Far from the hustle and bustle of ski slopes, cross-country skiing is a great way of exploring stunning alpine landscapes. Whether on a trail or in the woods, you’ll find yourself enjoying the peace and quiet like never before.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
