One of the most recommended ski resorts in the Pyrenees

Baqueira Beret is a small area of Lleida, Spain, with the most varied skiing options in its 160 km of marked tracks. Some of them are Luis Arias, a mythical piste of the Spanish Pyrenees; Argulls, a valley that receives big amounts of snow throughout the season; or La Manaud, with an extremely deep inclination, only for expert skiers. There are many more options in the area, like Dossau and Marimanha, Blanhiblar, Costarjàs or La Peülla. Here below, you will find the best guided backcountry skiing programs in Baqueira Beret.

FAQs: Backcountry Skiing in Baqueira Beret

Why should I choose Baqueira Beret for my Backcountry Skiing adventure?

For all levels

The station consists of three large areas: the classic Baqueira; Bonaigua to the east, for more expert skiers; and Beret, very advisable for families and beginners, since there are mostly gentle slopes. All of them have their own parking areas.

All in one place

Baqueira Beret has exceptional off-piste skiing options such as the Escornacabres, 38 ski lifts that transport 60,000 people per hour and snow of excellent quality due to its northwest orientation, facing the Atlantic Ocean. It also has excellent cuisine and the landscape of Val d'Aran wherever you look.

Montgarri

A few kilometers from the Pla de Beret is Montgarri, a charming abandoned village where the houses are almost demolished. There is a mountain hut (Amics de Montgarri) and an old hermitage. In winter it becomes an amazing landscape, similar to a fairy tale.

How can I get to Baqueira Beret?

It is about 130 km from the city of Lleida (2 hours by car) and about 300 km (4 hours by car) from Barcelona. Keep in mind that it has no airport or train station.

Which language is predominantly spoken in the Baqueira Beret region?
